Antarctica, magnificent in its beauty and unmerciful in its brutality, is a land unto itself. Every other continent has spilled the blood of man through war. Even so, this single continent dwarfs both America and Europe combined. Due to it’s harsh conditions, no germs can survive leaving men to die more to violent deaths than to natural. No other continent has seen such differing views on faith and politics work together so flawlessly. All of this happening only inches away from temperatures reaching 100 degrees below zero. It is a land of voracious appetites where American consume four meals per day without the slightest weight gain as the brutal cold burns calories quicker than any diet.
It is home to the “big eye,” a singular condition of mass insomnia caused by the perpetual daylight of summer where inhabitants cannot sleep in the full sunshine of 3:00 am. Antarctica holds claim to the most exclusive club on Earth, the “300 Degree Club.” It claims the least expensive and southernmost bar of the world located at the South Pole where all drinks cost a like amount, but where even so the bill for a single night can be a great amount. In Antarctica the nights are rather lengthy, starting in April and concluding in September.
At the heart of Antarctica, there’s a mobile ice shield that’s 9,000 feet across, which contains a rich deposit of coal, gas and oil that could be very useful. It is odd that there are virtually no laws on this continent, making it so that no criminal could ever be extradited. As a matter of fact, if he/she was able to survive, he/she would have almost nine million square miles of wide open spaces, broad valleys and 15,000-foot mountain ranges to disappear in.
Even so, Antarctica has the smallest crime rate of any country or nation out there. If serious crimes have occurred there, such as murders, no one has ever been charged or prosecuted for them. Even if someone knew about the murder, there are no extradition treaties or statutes that could be used to charge or prosecute the murderer.
Ten flags from different countries are unfurled over the continent; however, not a single square foot of this real estate is claimed by any. While there has never been any serious attempts to set up a permanent colony on Antarctica, at the South Pole there is some of the most sophisticated computers and other scientific equipment available.
Even though they are only temporary, its inhabitants account for the greatest per capita IQ on earth. There is no other place on Earth were more people have a university degree than a high school diploma. There is more research preformed here than in any other geographical location. If you want to find scientific talent, you will find more here than at any university in the world. Antarctica is the only land which prohibits the detonation of nuclear bombs.
The laws that Antarctica does have are incredibly strict environmental laws. Any animal life here now requires very strict licenses in order to kill due to the past slaughter by both sealers and whalers.
